In-Home Cleaner

Job Overview: We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Cleaner to provide housekeeping and cleaning services to clients in their own homes. As an In-Home Cleaner, you will play an essential role in creating a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for clients who require assistance with household tasks. Your meticulous attention to detail and commitment to maintaining cleanliness will contribute to enhancing the well-being and quality of life for our clients.

Responsibilities:

  1. Perform general housekeeping duties, including cleaning, dusting, sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming various areas of clients’ homes.
  2. Ensure cleanliness and sanitation of kitchens, bathrooms, bedrooms, living areas, and other designated spaces according to clients’ preferences and specific instructions.
  3. Clean and disinfect surfaces, appliances, fixtures, and furnishings using appropriate cleaning products and equipment.
  4. Change bed linens, make beds, and maintain overall tidiness and organization of clients’ living spaces.
  5. Assist with laundry tasks, including washing, drying, folding, and putting away clothes and linens as required.
  6. Manage waste disposal, including sorting and disposing of trash, recycling, and other waste materials according to local regulations and client preferences.
  7. Maintain a stock of cleaning supplies and ensure proper storage and handling of cleaning products.
  8. Report any maintenance or safety issues observed during cleaning tasks to the appropriate individuals for prompt resolution.
  9. Follow established health and safety guidelines, including infection control measures, to ensure a safe environment for clients and yourself.
  10. Respect clients’ privacy, confidentiality, and personal belongings at all times.
  11. Build rapport with clients, establishing a professional and respectful relationship while maintaining clear communication about their cleaning preferences and expectations.
  12. Maintain accurate records of cleaning activities and report any concerns or issues to the supervisor or designated point of contact.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Previous experience in cleaning or housekeeping roles is preferred, but not mandatory. Training can be provided to candidates with the right attitude and willingness to learn.
  • Attention to detail and a strong work ethic, ensuring high standards of cleanliness and tidiness are consistently maintained.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively to complete assigned tasks within the allotted timeframes.
  • Excellent organisational skills to prioritise tasks and work efficiently in different environments.
  • Strong verbal communication skills to interact with clients and respond to their requests and preferences.
  • Physical stamina and the ability to perform repetitive tasks, including bending, lifting, and standing for extended periods.
  • Understanding of basic cleaning techniques and the safe and proper use of cleaning equipment and supplies.
  • Reliable transportation to travel to clients’ homes and the flexibility to accommodate varying schedules.

Working Conditions: The In-Home Cleaner will primarily work in clients’ homes, requiring travel between locations. This role may involve exposure to different environments and cleaning challenges, such as pets, allergens, or specific cleaning requirements.
